Cast aluminum lost wax casting. Painted flat black and then burnished with a rag to bring out the high points. Polyester rope used for the fuse.
A small kids' size ball was used to take a mold of half the ball using plaster. Then wax was used to make two positive shell halves using the mold.
The two halves were seamed together and then melted down a bottom to make sure the sculpture would sit solidly.
Molds were taken of various toy bugs and then were used to create many wax bug positives to be attached to the bomb body.
Abstract sculpture using African mahogany. 4"x4"x8" block with a single continuous cut line for 2 of the 4 sides. Cut lines were done only on 2 perpendicular sides to create a shape from how the cut lines interact in space.

Using an alginate mold of my hand a plaster casting was made. Using that cast a 2 part urethane rubber mold was made to cast the final piece in urethane resin.
The hinge mount was made using a 3D printer. The part was printed with ABS filament, and then finished of with glazing putty and paint.
Ceramic heart sculpture. Finished with a layering of colored slips and a clear glaze.
A 3D printed plastic sculpture cast in bronze using the lost wax method. Casting was done using a centrifugal casting machine.
Sculpture was made by using two seperate 3D models which were then modified and blended together to create "Dragon Perch." Printed in ABS plastic.
No support was needed for printing which meant no backflow of metal to any spot would occur allowing for minimal spruing.

Sterling silver pendant with silver chain.
Lost wax casting method using an orchid flower as the pattern with a light coat of wax to the backside of the pedals to maintain shape during investing.
2 sided pendant with 2 themes. One side depicting the stresses of deadlines and the other the face of an alien wearing a space helmet.
The pendant is a layered construction of materials using cold connections only to construct the piece. The rivets were placed in positions that play into the depiction on either side of the pendant.
Materials used: bronze, copper, aluminum, wood/plastic laminate, wrist watch clock face parts
Lost wax bronze casting. Finished with a layering of varying patinas. Waxed with a paste wax while the sculpture was hot, and then burnished with a rag.
Various construction methods used including both positive and negative molds, sheet construction, and hand sculpting.

Lost wax bronze casting. Finished with a layering of varying patinas. Waxed with a paste wax while the sculpture was hot, and then burnished with a rag.

Rocket car is made from Modulan foam and bondo with acrylic disc wheels. It is a late 40's stylized design imitating the chopped top look of dragster cars.
The sculpture is propelled by a 12g CO2 cartridge along a wire track line.
Lost wax bronze casting finished with a liver of sulfur patina, and then burnished with a rag to create a worn antique look.
Pattern was created by cutting up various parts of skeleton soldier toys, and then pieced together to create a piece that celebrates various aspects of my college years.
